Alpaca garments are special. Their softness, warmth, and lightness make them unique in the world. But that doesn’t mean they’re difficult to care for. On the contrary: if you know how, keeping them clean and soft is easier than you think.

At Alpaca Clothes, we believe that a good garment should last for years, and the secret lies in simple washing, without complications or unusual products.

🌿 HAND WASH (the ideal method)

Use cold or lukewarm water, never hot.

Add a little mild shampoo or neutral soap. You don’t need anything else.

Soak the garment for a few minutes and move it gently (without scrubbing or twisting).

Rinse with clean water, always at the same temperature.

To remove excess water, wrap it in a towel and press gently.

✨ Tip: Alpaca hardly absorbs odors, so you don’t need to wash it often. Sometimes just airing it out a bit is enough to restore its freshness.

🌤️ DRYING

Spread it flat on a towel, giving it its natural shape.

Avoid hanging it, as the weight can stretch it.

No dryer or direct sunlight. Let it dry in the shade, calmly.

💡 The beauty of alpaca fiber is that it dries quickly, without losing its shape or softness.

🧺 What if I want to use the washing machine?

If you’re short on time, you can also use a washing machine, just follow these tips:

Use cold water and the delicate cycle.

Place the garment inside a cloth bag or pillowcase.

Don’t spin it hard. Leave it slightly damp and dry as explained above, but I recommend not using the spin function.

It’s that easy.

🧣 TO KEEP IT PERFECT

It doesn’t need fabric softener: alpaca is already naturally soft.

If any lint appears, rub it with your hand or a soft brush.

Store it folded and clean, away from dust and moisture.

💬 A TIP FROM ALPACA CLOTHES

Alpaca fiber is one of the finest fibers in existence. It breathes, retains no odor, and stays beautiful with very little effort.
Caring for it isn’t complicated; it only requires the same things it offers: nature, softness, and patience.

So don’t be afraid to wash it: treat it with care, and you’ll have a garment that will last for years to come.
